Job summary

Waldorf School of the Peninsula in Los Altos, CA, seeks a part-time K-5 Extended Care Teaching Assistant for our preschool program. The position is hourly with possible work during school breaks and summers when camps are offered.

Availability Monday through Friday 1 pm - 6 pm is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and a caring, authoritative presence with children.

Qualifications

• Excellent, professional interpersonal skills are required
• Ability to multitask and take ownership of a wide range of children’s needs

Responsibilities

• Promote positive relationships with all children and adults
• Create a nurturing environment for young children and families
• Develop partnerships with colleagues to establish a cohesive early childhood community
• Assist Lead Teachers and Extended Care Director as informed
• Perform light housekeeping and child maintenance duties
