Sunbelt Staffing is hiring a School Social Worker for a full-time, contract-based role supporting students in Scranton, PA for the 2026/2027 academic year. You will provide direct counseling to K-4 and/or K-12 students, collaborate with educators on interventions, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.

The position runs through June 2027 with a consistent weekday schedule and a collaborative team environment focused on student social and emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Valid and current school social worker license (school-specific credential)
• Prior experience in K-12 or K-4 settings preferred
• Strong understanding of child development and behavioral interventions
• Proficient in crisis management and supporting students under stress
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, teachers, and administrators

Responsabilités

• Provide direct individual and group counseling to caseloads (K-4 or K-12)
• Collaborate with educators to design interventions supporting academic and social success
• Conduct assessments, develop action plans, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Serve as a resource to families, connecting them with school and community supports
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation per school policies
