Job summary

Marblehead Public Schools seeks a compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a Therapeutic Learning Classroom for K–3. The role focuses on a structured, trauma-informed environment fostering self-regulation, growth, and inclusive experiences.

Responsibilities include differentiated instruction, IEP leadership, collaboration with teachers and specialists, and family engagement to support each child’s academic and social-emotional progress.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts DESE licensure for Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8 or appropriate grade span).
• SEI Endorsement required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic teaching and student success.
• Deliver highly differentiated individual and small-group lessons aligned with IEPs and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Create a structured, predictable classroom promoting independence and self-regulation.
• Apply evidence-based strategies to support academic and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with general educators, counselors, behavior specialists, therapists, and administrators.
