Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks an educator to collaborate with special and general education staff in District 186, starting with the 2026-2027 180-day calendar. The role focuses on implementing IEPs and developing behavior plans to support identified students.

You will provide consultation and training to teachers and parents, monitor progress, and ensure strategies are aligned with documented data. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsement.
• Successful teaching or student teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication with teachers, students, parents and staff.
• Knowledge of secondary curriculum.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of intervention strategies and progress monitoring experience.
• Ability to model teaching strategies for diverse learners.
• Ability to assess learning/behavior using documented data.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with special education and general education staff.
• Work under the direction of the building principal.
• Provide instruction as determined by students’ IEPs.
• Participate in development of IEPs including behavior intervention plans.
• Provide consultation, technical assistance and training to teachers and parents.
• Provide information to parents relative to strategies to support learning at home.
• Take responsibility for implementation of IEPs for students on assigned caseload.
• Other duties as assigned.
