Job summary

American Leadership Academy in the East Valley is seeking a K-3 Reading Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must hold an AZ Teaching Certificate with Reading Endorsement and an AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card, with 3-5 years preferred.

The role includes leading literacy interventions, supervising paraprofessionals, and using data to guide instruction and MTSS interventions across identified student groups.

Qualifications

• AZ Teaching Certificate with Reading Endorsement is required.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality intervention to move students to grade-level proficiency.
• Oversee paraprofessionals in developing high-quality instruction.
• Use student performance data to locate interventions and ensure implementation of plans.
• Monitor grades, testing data, and MTSS data for students in identified subgroups.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Assist in developing intervention plans within the MTSS process.
• Support teachers in screening, diagnostics and progress monitoring assessments.
• Provide targeted math or literacy interventions as needed.
