Job summary

BelovED Community Charter School seeks a dedicated elementary music teacher to plan and deliver engaging music lessons for grades K-3, lead the fifth grade choir, and support band activities. You will collaborate cross-functionally with the Electives Department Chair to ensure a cohesive curriculum and student progression.

The role emphasizes performance preparation, inclusion, and alignment with New Jersey standards. A Bachelor’s in Music Education and NJ teaching certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
• New Jersey Department of Education Certification (CE, CEAS, or Standard).
• Demonstrated experience teaching elementary school music or equivalent focused on younger learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons for grades K-3, incl. singing, movement, instruments, and creative expression.
• Lead daily rehearsals for fifth grade choir, focus on vocal health and ensemble skills.
• Assist with select full-band rehearsals or sectionals to support ensemble growth.
• Collaborate with the Electives Department Chair to plan for continuity in music curriculum across grades.
• Prepare K-3 students for winter and spring performances and a year-end concert.
