Job summary

The Susquehanna Township School District is seeking a Paraprofessional to support students, especially those with disabilities, under supervision of certified staff. This role focuses on instructional and non-instructional support to help students Thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities include assisting with lessons, behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with the educational team to implement IEPs and individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require additional education or training.
• Certification may be required if without an associate degree.
• Experience with children or individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to adapt to changing school needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group student support in various instructional settings.
• Implement behavior management and support positive social development.
• Assist certified teachers with instructional activities and lesson delivery.
• Provide personal care and support as needed according to IEPs.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and admins.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and playgrounds.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and set up equipment.
• Collect and record data on student progress and behavior.
• Collaborate with staff to develop individualized plans and attend meetings.
