Job summary

Payson Unified District Payson Elementary School is seeking a licensed SPED Teacher for grades K-2. You will deliver specialized instruction, develop lesson plans, and use distance learning methods while aligning with AZ standards.

Responsibilities include assessing student progress, maintaining records, and collaborating with the instructional team to support students and families. The role requires adherence to district policies and HIPAA/FERPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate for grade level and subject.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from accredited college or university.
• Must possess a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
• Appropriate hours to teach the associated subject matter in accordance with state, federal and district policy, regulations and statutes.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HIPAA and FERPA confidentiality requirements.
• Develops positive relations with students, parents, staff and the public.
• Works with Instructional Coach to maintain best practices aligned to AZ standards.
• Attends and participates in professional learning communities and meetings.
• Develops lesson plans and delivers curriculum using distance learning methods.
• Manages student behavior with effective classroom management techniques.
• Maintains and organizes lesson plans and materials.
• Uses teaching methods aligned with Arizona High Academic Standards for Students.
• Creates a conducive learning environment for students.
• Communicates objectives and progress to students and guardians.
• Screens for learning deficiencies and pursues interventions as needed.
• Keeps accurate attendance records and data supporting student progress.
