Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator, Early Literacy Tutor to assist K-2 students identified with reading challenges. The role involves tutoring, data-informed progress monitoring, and classroom support to enhance literacy outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 48 college credits or MSDE ParaPro Assessment completed.
• One year of experience working with children.
• Knowledge of early literacy best practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Commitment to educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Tutors individual and/or small groups of students in reading.
• Uses assessment data to monitor progress within a RTI model.
• Assists in administering tests and assessments.
• Maintains attendance logs and records; prepares instructional materials.
• Provides classroom support and manages routine instructional activities.
• Supervises students during off-site instruction and field trips.
• Supports daily living activities as appropriate.
