Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day with faster learning and strong mentorship for K‑2 students. We seek a Literacy Specialist to deliver structured-literacy instruction rooted in Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or equivalent frameworks, informed by live student data.

You will create engaging small-group workshops, motivate students through adaptive apps, and leverage real-time data to drive instruction.

Qualifications

Structured-literacy credential or Master’s in reading instruction.
Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of full-time K‑2 structured reading instruction within the past 5 years.
Ability to design reading lessons independently without a published program.
Ability to assess reading progress and describe concrete gains.
Willingness to work on-site full-time at one Alpha campus across specified cities.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Provide structured-literacy instruction with measurable acceleration in K‑2 reading.
Create and facilitate small-group K‑2 literacy workshops using live data.
Conduct running records, fluency assessments, and decoding measures to monitor growth.
Analyze AI-generated diagnostics to refine instruction and adapt lessons.
Be the high-energy, approachable adult that K‑2 students expect daily.
