Job summary

Northampton Area School District seeks an Anticipated K-2 Autistic Support Instructional Assistant at East Allen Elementary. The role supports a certificated teacher to reinforce instruction for identified students in small groups within the classroom.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree or 48 post-secondary credits, or district-approved assessment.
• Experience working with children, including those with special needs, in an organized setting.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Reinforce instruction and maintain student records and program documentation.
• Assist with testing and monitoring student progress.
• Support classroom management and implement behavior plans under teacher direction.
• Prepare instructional materials and help with basic classroom tasks.
