Job summary

NC State University's College of Education is seeking a part-time supervisor to support Transformational Scholars student teachers in Harnett, Duplin, Edgecombe, Samson, and Wilson counties. The role is on-site with travel to districts in eastern North Carolina.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Education, have at least five years of K-12 teaching experience, a NC teaching license, and strong collaboration and communication skills. Mentoring experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful K-12 teaching experience.
• North Carolina teaching license required.
• Experience mentoring or supervising student teachers preferred.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with technology for communication, documentation, and evaluation.
• Commitment to Transformational Scholars Program values.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with student teachers and supervisors.
• Supervise and provide regular feedback to Transformational Scholars student teachers.
• Conduct observations using rubrics and complete evaluations timely.
• Mentor and support student teachers and coordinate with university staff.
• Connect student teachers with community resources and partners.
• Collaborate with program coordinators to implement the program.
• Ensure placements align with curriculum and learning objectives.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and schedule visits.
• Travel to eastern NC school districts to supervise student teachers.
