Job summary

ESS substitutes are needed for Hamburg Area School District in Hamburg, PA to cover classrooms when the regular teacher is absent. The Substitute Teacher role follows lesson plans, delivers instruction, and maintains regular classroom routines to support student learning.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and PA Teacher Certification or Education Major meeting Act 86 requirements, plus completed state and federal clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and PA Teacher Certification or Education Major meeting Act 86 requirements.
• Clearance requirements listed above (Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration
