Job summary

ESS seeks substitute teachers to cover daily classroom instruction in Clairton, PA, and nearby districts. You will follow lesson plans, assist students in understanding subject matter, and maintain regular classroom routines.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree with PA teaching certification for substitute teaching or a GED/high school diploma for paraprofessional roles, plus the necessary clearances (Act 24/34/114, 126/151, 71/168) and a TB test.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with PA teaching certification for substitute teaching.
• GED or high school diploma acceptable for paraprofessional roles.
• Clearances and trainings required by PA law (Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 126, Act 151, Act 71, Act 168).
• TB test and related health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in absence of regular teacher following lesson plans.
• Review and implement teacher routines, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report student injuries, illnesses, and serious discipline problems to administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.
