Job summary

South Coast ESD in Coos Bay, Oregon invites a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to identify and remediate students with speech and language disorders from kindergarten through high school. You will work closely with parents, classroom staff, and specialists to translate assessment findings into effective, measurable IFSP/IEP goals and interventions.

You will conduct eligibility testing, plan interventions, maintain confidential records, and report progress.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • Oregon Basic Certificate with Speech Pathology Norm OR Oregon State Health License in Speech Pathology.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and describe the communicative behavior of the child/student, relating that behavior to normal development.
  • Coordinate and integrate test results with parents, school staff and other professionals.
  • Schedule and conduct eligibility and IFSP/IEP meetings with parents and staff.
  • Plan and implement intervention programs based on diagnostic data and needs.
  • Report progress to parents, teachers, and others per IFSP/IEP schedule.
  • Serve as case manager for students whose primary disability is Communication Disorder.
  • Follow ESD procedures for assessment, placement, instruction, record keeping and dismissal.
  • Complete Medicaid billing and other paperwork accurately and timely.
