Job summary

South Coast ESD seeks a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to identify and remediate speech and language disorders in children aged 3-5. The role requires coordinating assessments, IFSP/IEP planning, and evidence-based intervention programs.

You will collaborate with parents, teachers, and staff, maintain confidential records, and adhere to state rules while delivering services in regular or special education settings. Travel between Coos and Curry Counties may be required.

Qualifications

• Hold required certification/licensure to function as Speech Language Pathologist in Oregon.
• Must hold Oregon Driver's license and provide own transportation.
• Current first aid and CPR cards.

Responsibilities

• Assess and describe the child’s communicative behavior in relation to normal development.
• Coordinate and integrate test results with parents, school staff and professionals.
• Schedule and conduct eligibility and IFSP/IEP meetings with parents and staff.
• Plan and implement effective intervention programs based on diagnostic data and needs.
• Report progress to parents, teachers and other stakeholders in accordance with IFSP/IEP.
• Order equipment, materials and texts necessary to conduct therapy.
• Function as case manager for students with primary communication disorders.
• Follow ESD procedures for assessment, placement, instruction, documentation and dismissal.
