Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to plan and implement individualized programs, tutorials, and consultations.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and a state teaching certificate, with LBS1 endorsements preferred. Additional credentials include CPR, health clearance, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
• State Teacher Certification: Elementary, Secondary or Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Current CPR; TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable; Health certificate as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K–12.
• Collaborate with general education staff on planning and implementing student programs.
• Deliver special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with staff.
• Engage in team planning and program implementation.
