Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Special Education team, delivering direct therapy to students in Grades K-12. You will develop and implement IEP goals, assess progress, and coordinate with families and school staff to support functional independence and educational outcomes.

The role involves collaborative planning with educators, data-driven progress reporting, and training colleagues on therapy techniques and assistive technology.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy.
• Licensed OT in California or actively pursuing licensure.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Experience providing OT services to children in special education settings.
• Experience with IEP processes and compliance for students with disabilities.
• Strong communication with families, staff, and agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic office software.
• Ability to work effectively in a school-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students per IEP.
• Complete assessment reports within mandated timelines.
• Communicate evaluation results and therapy recommendations to families and staff with guardian consent.
• Develop and adjust educationally relevant therapy goals.
• Reassess and modify objectives based on student progress.
• Collaborate with educators and train staff on OT interventions.
• Document progress according to district guidelines and reporting systems.
• Participate in IEP meetings with data-driven insights.
• Create a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Facilitate use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Attend required team meetings, trainings, and collaborations.
• Perform additional duties to support the student services team.
