Job summary

Bensalem Township School District in Bensalem, PA is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. The grant-funded position reports to the Assistant to the Superintendent for Special Services.

The role supports students through collaboration with psychologists, counselors, nurses, and the Home and School Visitor, and involves analyzing student needs, coordinating with families and schools, and serving on the District Mental Health Team.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in social work required for the role.
• Certification as Home and School Visitor preferred.
• Experience in public school settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aids referred students who have difficulty in adapting to school life and arranges appropriate support.
• Collaborates with parents, teachers, and school staff to identify causes and provide solutions.
• Analyzes medical/psychological information to inform remedial actions.
• Acts as liaison with community resources and family service agencies.
• Serves on the District Mental Health Team and supports crisis responses.
• Communicates with attendance and truancy processes as needed.
• Gathers data and supports grant-writing efforts as applicable.
• Participates in IST/SAP teams and trains staff as necessary.
