Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to ensure deaf and hard of hearing students access to classroom instruction across K-12 settings.

You will interpret between spoken English and ASL, Signing Exact English, or the most appropriate modality, working with teachers and families to support a seamless learning day while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Wisconsin DPI Educational Interpreter License.
• EIPA score meeting DPI requirements.
• Completed an accredited Interpreter Training Program.
• Associates Degree in Child Development or related field.
• Background check clearance and eligibility to work in the United States.
• RID certification preferred (NIC/CI-CT or legacy credentials).

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, real-time interpretation in classrooms, small groups, and events.
• Adapt communication methods to each student’s language needs and IEP accommodations.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility of content.
• Support student independence by facilitating communication without altering content.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to progress discussions.
• Review instructional materials to prepare effective interpretation.
