Job summary

The Educational ASL Interpreter role at TrulyHired places you in a school setting in New Hampshire, providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation to deaf or hard-of-hearing students within an inclusive environment.

You will support communication across classrooms, staff, and peers, ensuring access to curriculum and activities while adhering to RID/FERPA guidelines and codes of conduct. Prior K-12 experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Certification as Educational Interpreter (NH).
• EIPA 3.5+ or RID/NAD certification preferred.
• ITP or Associate's/Bachelor's in a related field.
• Deep understanding of Deaf Culture and diverse communication modes.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting for students in classrooms, assemblies, field trips and meetings.
• Interpret complex academic vocabulary and concepts in advance when needed.
• Collaborate with IEP team to discuss communication plan and access needs.
• Adhere to RID Code of Professional Conduct and FERPA confidentiality.
• Monitor environment for optimal visual access during interpretation.
• Support IEP goals related to communication and language development.
