Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across designated areas at K-12 and higher education campuses. The role includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment.

The position emphasizes on-site work, adherence to safety procedures, and collaboration with site leaders and facilities teams. ABM promotes veteran-friendly employment and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
No experience required and on the job training provided.
No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior customer service experience
One (1) year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
