Job summary

Health West is seeking a School-Based Psychotherapist to provide behavioral health services to students in grades K-12 within School District 381 in American Falls, Idaho.

The role includes assessment, psychotherapy, education, and coordination with school staff and primary care providers. Licensure in Idaho as an LCSW or LCPC is required; LPCs/LMSWs with relevant experience may be considered. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the State of Idaho as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC); LPCs and LMSWs with other relevant experience will be considered.
• Ability to make accurate clinical assessments of adolescents with mental and behavioral conditions.
• Experience with evidence-based psychotherapy and brief interventions for mental health and substance use.
• Crisis response planning and suicide risk assessments.
• Team-based collaboration with school personnel, primary care and behavioral health providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Work with school personnel to promote student mental health.
• Attend school events as needed, possibly outside typical hours.
• Conduct clinical assessments of behavioral health conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and care pathways.
• Maintain timely and accurate records and documentation.
• Provide training on mental health topics to school staff and clinicians.
• Travel to different sites within the district may be required.
