Job summary

Consertus is seeking a Project Manager to represent the Owner on K-12 school construction and renovation projects—from early planning through closeout. You will own the project delivery, including schedule, budget, contracts, and stakeholder coordination with architects, engineers, and district staff.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10+ years of PM/construction experience, with strong knowledge of scheduling, costs, and public bidding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project/construction management of commercial and/or public facilities.
• 5+ years of project management experience in construction; K-12 or public education experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost/budget management.
• Familiarity with public bidding, prevailing wage, and school construction requirements a plus.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating across owners, designers, and contractors.
• PMP certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the owner's representative for K-12 projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget from pre-construction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flow projections.
• Administer contracts, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay apps.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve design questions.
• Partner with on-site Construction Manager to align field activity with project plan.
• Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
• Support procurement and bidding processes, including scope development and bid reviews.
• Ensure compliance with public bidding, prevailing wage, and district policies.
• Coordinate project phasing around the school calendar to minimize disruption.
• Manage risk identification and mitigation at the project level.
• Track and manage project closeout, including punch lists, as-builts, warranties.
