Mathika seeks a Director of Mathematics in Los Angeles to lead instructional excellence across locations, shaping curriculum and focus. The role blends teaching with leadership, including recruiting and guiding part-time instructors, ensuring quality, and advancing curriculum development.

The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with deep mathematical knowledge, proven leadership, and a passion for nurturing students and teachers within a joyful, rigorous learning community.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in Mathematics or a quantitative field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring K-12 or similar levels.
• Demonstrated leadership ability (mentoring teachers, leading programs, or managing teams).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, teachers, and families.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach small-group math classes across assigned grade levels (K–12 as appropriate).
• Model high-quality, discussion-based instruction for part-time teachers.
• Recruit, interview, and hire part-time instructors.
• Train, mentor, and provide feedback to teachers to ensure quality.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and program design; oversee operations.
