Job summary

Morning Star Academy is seeking an educator to deliver intensive literacy and math interventions aligned with the SC Read to Succeed Act. You will administer universal screeners, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers to strengthen Tier I instruction.

The role requires SC teaching certification and experience with RTI/MTSS, with training in LETRS or R2S preferred. You will communicate with families about goals and supports.

Qualifications

• SC Teaching Certificate is required.
• Experience with evidence-based reading and math instruction.
• Experience delivering small-group interventions or RTI/MTSS supports.
• Willingness to complete mandated R2S Literacy Teacher coursework or LETRS training if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive, evidence-based reading interventions aligned to the science of reading.
• Identify and serve students who struggle with grade-level text.
• Administer universal screeners and progress monitoring tools; analyze results to guide instruction.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement intervention plans and share strategies.
• Communicate with families about reading needs, goals, and home supports.
• Participate in LETRS or R2S professional development for literacy instruction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
