Job summary

Swartz Creek Community Schools is seeking a Student Support Professional – MTSS to provide targeted literacy and math support for grades K-5 during daily intervention blocks. You will assist in implementing behavior plans, support progress monitoring, and contribute to a safe, productive learning environment.

The role involves small-group and one-on-one instruction, coordination of MTSS routines, and collaboration with teachers to track progress using digital tools.

Qualifications

• Must have degree or 60 college credits or Parapro ETS score.
• Strong understanding of elementary literacy instruction (training provided).
• Ability to support small groups, manage multiple tasks and collaborate.
• Comfort using digital data tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one literacy and math interventions and enrichment.
• Support MTSS literacy routines, including decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension practice.
• Help develop and organize literacy materials, intervention lessons, and progress-monitoring tools.
• Assist in coordinating district and schoolwide assessments, including NWEA and screening tools.
• Use digital systems and spreadsheets to track student reading progress.
• Reinforce PBIS expectations and support students in positive behavior and self-regulation.
• Assist teachers with behavior plans, de-escalation strategies, and student support needs.
• Support schoolwide duties as needed, including recess and lunch supervision.
• Maintain punctual, dependable attendance and collaborate positively with staff.
