Job summary

ESS is hiring an Instructional Aide for the Chichester School District in Aston, PA. The role supports students with IEPs under supervision of teachers and district staff, performing instructional and administrative duties to help students meet educational goals.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 48 college credits or ParaEd certification, and state/federal clearances. Training and certification updates are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 48 college credits or Para Ed. Certification OR becoming Para Ed. Certified within one year of hire
• Pennsylvania State Police Clearance for employment
• Child Abuse Clearance for employment
• FBI Fingerprinting
• School Health Form: Physical and Tuberculosis Test
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification
• Act 126/Mandated Reporter training
• CPR, CPI, and First Aid Certified preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementing each student's educational program as outlined in IEPs and classroom schedule.
• Serve as liaison with teachers and district staff about students' ongoing needs.
• Provide advice and possible solutions on classroom-related issues.
• Document student information including needs, strengths, gains, and issues.
• Follow behavior support plans provided by teachers or support staff.
• Escort students to lunch and scheduled events in the building.
• Supervise students during meals, gym, recess, and field trips.
• Support students in inclusive classes with necessary modifications.
• Oversee student safety during bus loading/unloading.
• Participate in meetings to develop or update IEPs and Evaluation Reports.
• Attend training sessions and in-service workshops to update skills.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Assist with administrative duties such as recording grades and preparing materials.
• Promote a safe and orderly classroom environment and protect district property.
• Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to ESS and district policies and procedures.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
