Job summary

The Chichester School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Boothwyn Elementary in Boothwyn, PA. The role supports teachers and students by preparing instructional materials, assisting with lessons, supervising classrooms and duties, and helping manage behavior.

This is a 10-month position with a pay rate of $15.29 per hour. A high school diploma and annual paraprofessional training are required, including a state-endorsed math and language arts assessment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass the state-endorsed local assessment in math and language arts.
• Yearly paraprofessional training required – with a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training yearly.

Responsibilities

• Discusses curriculum with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Assists the teacher in the preparation of instructional materials.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning.
• Assists students with the use of audio-visual materials, equipment and computers.
• Monitors lunches, recess, fire drills, field trips, bus duty, and hall duty.
• Outside duties: parking lot, fields, driveway as needed.
• Assist in correcting student work and preparing duplicating materials.
• Assist staff with classroom management and redirect disruptive behavior.
