Job summary

Benton Harbor Area Schools in Benton Harbor, MI, seeks a District IT Department Manager to lead planning, implementation, and governance of district IT and educational technology initiatives, ensuring secure, reliable infrastructure and a 21st-century learning environment.

You will partner with the Berrien RESA and local stakeholders to optimize instructional technology, manage the technology budget, and drive professional development for staff in the Google Workspace for Education ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; master’s preferred.
• 5+ years IT experience with 3+ years in leadership/supervisory roles.
• Experience in K-12 or public sector is desirable.
• CETL or equivalent certifications preferred; MS/Google/Cisco certs are a plus.
• Deep knowledge of networking, cloud computing, MDM, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and multi-year technology initiatives aligned with district goals.
• Oversee WAN/LAN, wireless, server architecture, and device lifecycle management.
• Direct instructional technology integration and Google Workspace for Education usage.
• Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy compliance (FERPA/COPPA) and disaster recovery.
