Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to collaborate with school staff and provide customized behavioral support for students with intensive needs. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic guidance and maintain documentation of progress.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, crisis management, and family communication, in a setting with smaller class sizes and strong PBIS practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor's degree highly preferred.
Experience implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive needs.
Emotional consistency and resilience to handle stressful situations.
Flexibility to support safety and well-being of staff and students.

Responsibilities

Work with diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
Provide monitoring and support throughout the school site.
Support creation and implementation of behavior support plans.
Record, track, and document behavioral incidents and progress.
Utilize PBIS strategies and school incentive programs.
Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and safety interventions.
Foster a positive environment encouraging social/behavioral skill development.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for differentiated support.
Participate in debriefing after challenging situations.
Facilitate communication with parents.
