Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is a premier provider of K-12 education services that support students with diverse needs.

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will work with small groups, co‑plan with teachers, and implement data‑driven PBIS CASE across classrooms and schools. You will monitor student progress, communicate with families, apply de‑escalation and safety procedures, and support daily plans and accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.
• Valid driver’s license to perform student transportation.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction and implement SESI academic rotational model.
• Collaborate with teachers and service providers to address students’ needs.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks and using data to tailor materials.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and safety measures.
• Support daily plans and document student progress.
• Supervise students during transitions and trips between locations.
• Work with other staff to address students’ needs.
