Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a motivated Academic Support Specialist at Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio, to foster a rigorous, nurturing environment with high student engagement and achievement. Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling with School Counseling Endorsement on a Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate.
• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree with Valid Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals.
• Meet with students who are at-risk for retention each marking period and, if appropriate, formulate a plan of action for academic success with the involvement of the student and parent/guardian.
• Plan and promote programs which enhance the academic, social or emotional growth of students, e.g., Curriculum Fair, Career Fair, Honors Program, graduation, opportunities for student enrichment and remediation, and scholarship opportunities.
