Job summary

West Bay Collaborative is seeking a dedicated educator to support students with special education needs at Elevate Elementary/Early Learning Center in Cranston. The role focuses on aligning IEP goals with CCSS, coordinating services, and promoting positive student outcomes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Program Administrator, social workers, and behavior specialists to implement individualized plans, monitor progress, and communicate outcomes to families and staff.

Qualifications

• Certification by RI Department of Education in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.
• Experience with modifying instruction to meet student needs.
• Experience with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
• Knowledge of health, safety and emergency procedures in a school environment.
• Training or ability to complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise curriculum content to support IEP goals.
• Instruct students in core content areas with necessary accommodations.
• Support students to achieve annual and long-term goals.
• Develop and implement school-wide structures for students with social-emotional needs.
• Communicate progress to students, staff and families.
• Collaborate with administrators, social workers and behavior specialists.
• Prepare IEP/504 plans aligning CCSS with administration and families.
• Collect data to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Coordinate with related service providers to reinforce skills.
• Conduct evaluations in response to referrals and tri-annual reviews as part of the Evaluation Team.
• Attend IEP meetings and present student progress.
• Report progress to districts and families per IEP reporting.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisors.
