Job summary

Grandview Heights High School in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated JV Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is supplemental and reports to the Athletic Director.

The coach will supervise a boys' JV team, conduct practices, ensure safety, develop training plans, and travel with the team to contests, six days per week with 15-20 hours per week commitment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the designated sport
• Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification
• Prior coaching experience preferred
• Van certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct the boys’ high school JV wrestling team of ~10–15 student-athletes
• Conduct regular practices for the team
• Coach student-athletes in a positive manner
• Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions
• Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels
• Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests; 15–20 hours per week typical
• Supervise and travel with the team to all contests
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and instruct the boys’ high school JV wrestlingteam consisting of approximately 10-15 student-athletes.
• Conduct regular practices for the team.

• Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
• Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests. 15-20 hours per week is a typical time commitment for the coach.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue
• Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather
• Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and read
• Regular requirement to lift equipment, up to 50 pounds
