BHP is seeking a Principal Joint Ventures professional in Denver, Colorado, to protect and create value across our non-operated JV portfolio. You will partner with the Head of Joint Ventures to deliver strategic analysis, governance stewardship, and decision support for shareholder outcomes.

The role sits at the intersection of commercial performance, governance, risk, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement, requiring you to synthesize complex data and influence senior leaders and boards

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in mining/resources, JV governance, shareholder rights, and strategic decision-making.
• Ability to evaluate complex multicountry JV performance and opportunities.
• Proven track record influencing operators, partners, and stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills for executive governance materials.

Responsabilités

• Analyse JV performance, plans, risks, opportunities, and governance for shareholder insights.
• Support development and execution of strategic priorities across JVs.
• Review operator submissions, budgets, projects, and governance materials for risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate inputs across technical, commercial, financial, legal, and sustainability teams.
• Prepare briefing papers and board materials to support senior leaders and committees.
• Maintain oversight of shareholder obligations and governance actions.
• Build relationships with operators, partners, governance reps, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead JV workstreams and drive improvement initiatives.
