Position Overview:

Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered individual to serve as the JV Girls Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will lead the development of a high-performing basketball program grounded in strong relationships, clear expectations, and a long-term vision for success. This role emphasizes building a cohesive K–12 program with intentional structures that support athlete development at every level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of the girl's basketball program
• Design and implement a comprehensive player development model aligned in philosophy, terminology, and skill progression
• Establish and maintain program-wide standards for culture, competitiveness, effort, and accountability
• Develop practice plans, game strategies, and offseason training that support long-term athlete growth
• Create and support youth camps, clinics, and feeder program opportunities to build continuity
• Collaborate with lower school and middle school staff/coaches to ensure alignment and consistency
• Promote high expectations for student-athletes in the classroom, on the court, and in the community
• Build strong relationships with players, families, staff, and the broader school community
• Supervise and mentor assistant and youth coaches within the program
• Ensure compliance with school, conference, and state athletic association policies

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, systems, and skill progression across age levels
• Proven ability to build a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Valid coaching certification and/or teaching license
• Ability to pass background check requirements

Compensation:

• Based on experience and district coaching salary schedule

POSITION SUMMARY:

To direct, support and fully implement the assigned High School Activity Program with an education-based philosophy of teaching and coaching. Instruct all participants in the fundamental skills and strategies of the activity for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Season runs November-March with camp and clinic opportunities in other seasons. Stipend available.
