Grand Rapids Public Schools Ottawa Hills High School (9-12) in Grand Rapids, Michigan seeks a JV Cheerleading Coach to organize and teach fundamentals, lead team practices, and support student-athlete development. The role requires fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic balance while coordinating with the athletics department.

The coach will focus on safety, skill progression, and competitive readiness, with a stipend-based compensation and immediate start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and clear a criminal background check.
• Playing experience at the high school or college level and/or coaching experience required.
• Proof of current First Aid and CPR certifications prior to the first day of coaching.
• Certificate of completion for online concussion training prior to the first day of coaching.

Responsabilités

• Organize athletes and teach fundamentals of cheerleading.
• Train athletes to compete as a team and individually.
• Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff.
• Promote sportsmanship and safe athletic practices.
• Ensure a positive, inclusive environment for all participants.
• Assist with schedule and event planning for games and practices.
