Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a current CPR certification.
• Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements and certifications as determined by federal, state and District criteria.
• Pass background investigation as outlined by the District
• Be recommended by Principal or designee
• Receive Governing Board approval
• Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate (Head Coach levels)
• Volunteer coaches must be supervised by full-time certified staff

Responsibilities

• Educate students through participation in an interscholastic competition and promote academic success.
• Enforce federal, state and district policies, rules and procedures.
• Ensure safety and welfare of participants in practices, competitions and travel.
• Support athletic programs by encouraging student participation and managing equipment inventory.
• Schedule and supervise practices and events; maintain ethical conduct and integrity.
• Knowledge of the sport coached and adherence to district guidelines
