Qualifications

• Education and/or EXPERIENCE: To be decided by Executive Director and/or Building Principal.
• Certificates, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate, if applicable.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field; communicate effectively; meet district requirements.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities; varies from sit to stand; vision and hearing requirements described.
• WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor duties; deadlines; irregular or extended hours; safety and wellbeing of students and coaches.
• TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal.
• EVALUATION: Evaluated annually according to Board Policy.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individuals in skills necessary for the sport and plans a regular practice schedule.
• Oversees safety conditions of facilities when students are present.
• Maintains accurate statistics, records, and season results.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship; sets eligibility criteria for competition.
• Keeps current on rules, procedures, and coaching techniques.
• Communicates with parents and the community about the athletic program.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
