Job summary

Responsibilities include planning in-season practices, maintaining safety, compiling season statistics, enforcing standards, coordinating with the athletics department, and engaging parents and the community through clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, instruction manuals and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before administrators, staff, parents and students.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with students, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individuals in basketball skills and drills.
• Plans and schedules in-season practices.
• Oversees safety conditions for facilities and equipment.
• Maintains season statistics and results.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship; assigns penalties as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of rules, procedures and coaching techniques.
• Establishes eligibility criteria for interscholastic competition.
• Injuries prevention and follow-up programs.
• Coordinates with Athletic Director on intramural and interscholastic events.
• Recommends equipment, supplies and uniforms.
• Maintains attendance and insurance records.
