Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools seeks a Boys Baseball Assistant Coach (Junior Varsity) to support the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating all facets of the program. The role emphasizes a safe, inclusive, and development-focused environment for student-athletes, with collaboration among students, faculty, administrators, and parents.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for valid Illinois teaching certificate (Type 03/09/10) or ASEP/NFHS coach certification.
• CPR/AED certification required per IHSA regulations.
• IHSA concussion awareness training and safety protocols compliance.
• Background check and fingerprint clearance as per Illinois School Code.
• Completion of federal Title IX training to ensure non-discrimination in athletics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Coach to design skill-development drills and conditioning sessions.
• Provide individualized feedback on technique and effort.
• Assist with game-day logistics including equipment setup and scorekeeping.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate repairs of athletic equipment.
• Monitor IHSA rules and safety protocols; track athlete eligibility and required documentation.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Assist with developing schedules and coordinating travel logistics.
• Support budget management and procurement of equipment.
