Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Head Baseball Coach for Potomac Falls High School. The role leads the varsity program for the spring season (February–May) and requires coordinating coaching staff, promoting academics and sportsmanship, and ensuring program success.

Responsibilities include hiring and evaluating coaches, overseeing training, schedules, equipment, insurance, and compliance with VHSL rules, working with the athletic director and principal to maintain a strong athletic

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at high school or college levels.
• Completion of CPR and First Aid training or enrollment in a CPR/First Aid course.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high academic standards for student athletes.
• Assist athletic director/principal in hiring/retention of assistant coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate performance of assistant coaches.
• Coordinate with athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes.
• Collaborate with other head coaches to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
• Foster values of sportsmanship, pride in team, school, and community.
• Direct training and performance of varsity team; supervise assistants.
• Be present at varsity contests and supervise athletes at JV/Frosh contests and postseason events.
• Advise on schedules for the sport and on officials’ performance.
• Recommend equipment and supplies, ensure inventory and care of equipment.
• Inform athletic director about facility conditions and needs for maintenance.
• Ensure lists of eligible players are prepared under VHSL rules.
• Recommend removal of ineligible athletes when required.
• Encourage students to try out; recruit support staff.
• Collect records, statistics, and photos for teams.
