Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools seeks an Athletic Coach for JV Baseball at Hiroshi Miyamura High School for the Spring Sport season. This on-site position carries a $5,000 salary with a strict on-site work environment and leadership of a high school sports program.

The ideal candidate will hold or obtain the NM athletic coaching license (7-12) and a high school diploma, with demonstrated coaching experience and a strong commitment to character development and athletic excellence.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training.
• Coordinate coaching duties with the athletic director and principal support staff.
• Supervise staff of assistant coaches and middle school coaches as applicable.
• Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations and consultation.
