Job summary

The Village for Families and Children seeks a Juvenile Transportation/Case Aide to transport children and families to appointments and services in Manchester, CT. You will build trust, ensure safety, and document transportation details within a trauma-informed framework.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and 3+ years of driving experience with clean record. Evening/weekend availability and ability to install car seats are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate agency vehicles.
• Minimum of three years of driving experience.
• No DWI or DUI convictions.
• One to two years of experience transporting children, youth, or families.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to safely install and carry car seats and enter/exit agency vehicles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children, youth, and families to and from scheduled visits, services, and programs.
• Build positive rapport with children during transportation.
• Supervise client behavior while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Report incidents to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate mileage logs and transportation documentation.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow all traffic laws and agency safety procedures.
• Keep agency vehicles clean and well-maintained.
• Participate in required trainings and team meetings.
• Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strength-based approaches in all interactions.
