Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court seeks an Activities Coordinator to oversee leisure activities for youth in the Detention Center, using behavior management techniques and established policies. You will plan events, supervise interactions, and help ensure safety and positive youth development.

You will assist in transportation, report generation about activities, and participate in supervising visits and phone calls, contributing to a structured, secure environment for residents.

Formación

• Requires good judgment, tact and diplomacy to manage youth and deescalate situations.
• Ability to manage resident behavior and document incidents accurately.
• Must communicate clearly in oral and written form and interact professionally.

Responsabilidades

• Plan free time activities including exercising, games, sports, arts and events.
• Interact with youths through activities, discussions, and modeling behavior.
• Motivate and encourage participation in events and programs.
• Secure activity areas and ensure spaces are free of hazards.
• Provide input to management on residents' needs and program improvements.
• Assist in transporting youth to and from locations.
• Prepare regular reports describing youth activities and participation.
• Assist with supervision of visitation and telephone calls.
• Help manage residents' behavior on and off the unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
