Job summary

State of New Hampshire, Division for Children, Youth & Families, seeks Juvenile Probation & Parole Officers I–IV for the Manchester District Office. These roles perform field supervision of juveniles, conduct investigations, prepare court reports, and provide recommendations to the court and Juvenile Parole Board.

Officers progress from entry-level JPPO I to JPPO IV, with responsibilities increasing from supervision and reporting to leadership and training.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 2.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• License/Certification: Valid driver’s license and access to transportation.
• Must be able to travel to District Offices and/or other work locations up to 50 miles away from the assigned work location for temporary assignment or reassignment to ensure continuity of service to clients.
• Must be able to tele-work from home or other sites as assigned.
• Must be able to work overtime or non-traditional hours as assigned to meet the needs of youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Attend court hearings and prepare written reports for the courts for use at disposition and review hearings.
• Make sentencing and restitution recommendations to the Court.
• Supervise juveniles placed on conditional release or parole and monitor compliance with court orders.

Education

Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience
