Job summary

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Juvenile Probation Officer to provide social services to rehabilitate juvenile offenders in custody or on probation. You will develop rehabilitation plans, set conditions, and coordinate treatment and education requirements.

Responsibilities include case management, home and school visits, risk/needs assessments, court appearances, and referrals to service providers.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in criminal justice, social services, or education.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Preferred candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher, or an associate degree with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate contact with youth, family, victims, and law enforcement.
• Conduct home and school visits for information gathering and family involvement.
• Perform risk/needs assessments and develop case management strategies.
• Provide referrals to appropriate service providers and follow up actions.
• Prepare for court hearings and testify as needed.
• Maintain case histories, reports, and documentation in JJIS.
