Macomb County Government is seeking a Probation Officer to supervise and support juvenile probationers, conduct background interviews, prepare social histories, and make court-recommended treatment plans.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least two years of relevant experience, and a valid Michigan driver's license. It offers full-time hours, standard 8:00am–4:30pm schedule, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or Sociology, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience, such as juvenile probation, case management, or mental health counseling.
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides case management services to juveniles on probation to prevent future delinquency.
• Interviews parents, children, complainants, police, neighbors, teachers, clergy and other parties to determine background conditions.
• Compiles social history, uses assessment tools, and prepares appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintains accurate case histories, records, reports and other documentation.
• Makes disposition and treatment recommendations to the court.
