Qualifications

• Associate degree and 5 years of related experience in human services delivery, including supervisory role.
• Or 7 years direct case management experience with offenders and families, including supervisory experience.
• Or 2 years at the lower level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain State of Georgia POST certification within the first 6 months of employment.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree and 3+ years supervising staff in a human services setting.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees to evaluate progress and compliance with probation terms.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify rehabilitation program compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned inmates or offenders.
• Discuss factors like substance abuse and anger management with offenders.
• Conduct pre-hearing investigations and testify in court regarding backgrounds and sentencing conditions.
• Inform offenders of conditional release requirements and stipulations.
• Write reports describing offenders' progress and conduct additional evaluations as needed.
• Investigate legal issues and document findings.
• Counsel clients with substance abuse issues and arrange for treatment services.

Education

Associate degree in related field

Bachelor's degree preferred
